Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Pound Pilot (“the app”), a personal budget-tracking app. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app
Pound Pilot lets you log transactions, set monthly plans, and receive budget alerts. All of your data is stored locally on your device; the app has no user accounts, no sign-in, and does not transmit your data to us or any third party. See our Privacy Policy for details.
License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you obtained it from.
What you may not do
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app, except as permitted by these Terms or applicable open-source licenses;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits;
- use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
Your data is your responsibility
Because all data you create — transactions, amounts, notes, monthly plans, category allocations, alerts, and preferences — is stored only on your device, you are responsible for it. If you delete the app, reset your device, or lose your device, that data may be permanently lost. We have no copy of it and cannot recover it for you. We recommend keeping your own device backups.
Not financial advice
Pound Pilot is a tool to help you record and visualize your own spending. It does not provide financial, accounting, tax, investment, or legal advice. Any budgets, alerts, percentages, or summaries the app shows are based solely on the information you enter and are provided for your personal information only. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.
Accuracy
The app performs calculations from the data you enter. While we aim for accuracy, we do not guarantee that every calculation, currency conversion, chart, or alert is free of error. Always verify important figures independently.
“As is” — no warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app — including data loss resulting from device failure, deletion of the app, or your reliance on figures the app displays. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Cost
The app is provided free of charge. If this changes in the future, the applicable terms will be made clear before any purchase.
App store terms
Your download and use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of the app store you obtained it from (such as Apple’s App Store or Google Play currently in development). In the event of a conflict, those store terms apply to your relationship with the store.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your license to use the app if you materially breach these Terms.
